THE PLC SCHEME (PART L COMPLIANCE)

The new PLC-Scheme focuses specifically on Window & Door Energy Ratings and U-Values, crucial components in ensuring the energy efficiency of buildings. With the recent amendments to Part L of the Building Regulations, there is a heightened emphasis on improving the energy performance of windows and doors to reduce carbon emissions and enhance overall sustainability.

The two key aspects of ER Certification Ltd’s new PLC-Scheme include:

• Comprehensive Evaluation– The scheme provides a comprehensive evaluation of Window & Door Energy Ratings and U-Values, offering insights into the energy efficiency performance of these essential building components.
• As there are 2 routes to compliance with Part L – WERs/DERs or u-values, the new scheme will allow review and registration of both.
• Enhanced Compliance– By adhering to the Factory Production control requirements outlined in the PLC-Scheme, Manufacturers can ensure compliance with the latest regulations set forth in Part L of the Building Regulations. The Certified scheme shows consistency of manufacture and independent verification of the thermal data.
