Celebrating 15!

This year, we’re delighted to say, CENSolutions is celebrating 15 years in business. Back in 2003 when we started out, we were a small team of three, but we had big plans and a clear vision – we wanted to add real value. Too many manufacturers were receiving a raw deal from their certification providers; not seeing or hearing from them from one audit to the next, being bombarded with jargon, always on the back foot with new legislation and paying way over the odds for the privilege!  Our aim was to provide a hassle-free, plain English approach to certification that proved much better value for money.

15 years on, we’re proud to say we are now the largest supplier of quality certification to the window, door and glass industries, with a nationwide team of nine regional dedicated Independent Consultants. Everyone has a background in the fenestration sector and have worked in factories and understand the businesses they now visit. This is invaluable to customers who not only want all their products to be compliant and even future proofed against the latest legislation, but also want expert advice on the best way to achieve that. This often provides additional benefits – improved productivity or greater efficiencies for example. Customers tell us the advice they get from us actually makes a positive difference to their bottom line.

Changing landscape

Obviously the industry is now very different – the number of manufacturers out there today versus 15 years ago has dramatically reduced. However, the number of manufacturers looking at and engaging with quality processes and products has continued to grow, leading to higher standards across the board. As the market has embraced quality so we’ve broadened the scope of our offering in order to service this. As our customers have diversified, we’ve diversified to help them.  From our humble beginnings solely providing EN 1279 compliance testing on sealed units, we now provide over 350+ (IGU/Toughened Glass) & a further 250+ (Window & Door Manufacturers) customers across the industry with a variety of compliance testing on sealed units, windows and doors.  We’ve also developed a close cooperation with TÜV Rheinland Nederland B.V., ER Certification, and ERC Testing, which provides our customers with a certification circle they can rely on. It’s a customer oriented, comprehensive approach towards improving the quality and reliability of glass, windows and doors supplied to the UK market.

In Safe Hands

In 2013 we launched our ‘In Safe Hands’ campaign. We’d hit a double digit milestone and wanted to celebrate this with something that we believe is reflective of our customers’ experience when it comes to all of their certification requirements.  And here we are, five years on, with more and more manufacturers appreciating that philosophy.  For us, it’s never been just about the audit and certification.  Equally as important to us is the fact we are on hand if needed, happy to offer support and advice and able to assist with specific, individual situations proving that our customers’ certification really is In Safe Hands.

With the ever changing market and tighter and tighter controls on the processes within it, there will undoubtedly be further changes on the horizon. As ever, we will ensure our customers are on the front foot and are always armed with the information they need so they can keep servicing their customers. It’s the way we’ve worked for the last 15 years and the way we will continue to work for the next 15.
