Bison Frames

Fast efficient certification for Bison Frames

Barnsley-based Bison Frames are well-known in the industry for manufacturing high-end PVC-U windows and doors. With more than 50 years of fabrication experience and an emphasis on quality and innovation, they manufacture casement windows, PVC-U doors, conservatories and WarmCore bi-folding doors. But perhaps they’re best known for their PVC-U sash windows, including their flagship Genesis vertical slider. So when the time came to seek PAS 24:2016 accreditation for their sash window range, Bison turned to the leading industry certification and compliance consultancy, CENSolutions.

Bison’s Managing Director, Mark Tetley comments: “As a manufacturer with a reputation for quality and service, it’s important to us that we partner with companies with the same values. We’ve worked with CENSolutions in the past and I know how well-respected Wayne, Mike and their team are within the industry, not just for certification but as a consultancy that works with businesses. So when we needed PAS 24:2016 certification for our sash windows, I called CENSolutions.

“I made the right choice – the process was fast, efficient and hassle-free. CENSolutions intuitively understood what we needed and acted accordingly, keeping things straightforward and clear along the way. They made a potentially daunting task simple, because they really understand how fabricators like us work. We have more certification to do for other products in our range, and we’ll go straight back to CENSolutions to accomplish it.”

Wayne Rogerson, Joint Managing Director of CENSolutions adds: “It was a pleasure to work with Bison Frames again. From the first phone call with Mark it was clear that Bison were ready for assessment for PAS 24:2016 accreditation on their vertical sliders. Bison’s hardware supplier ERA had already performed the window tests for them, and it was clear that their processes and documentation for factory systems controls and third-party supplier accreditations were already accurate, complete and up-to-date. One week after the initial phone call CENSolutions in cooperation with ER Certification performed the assessment, and one week later they Bison their PAS 24:2016 certificates.

“As a company Bison are committed to manufacturing quality products in the correct way, and this was demonstrated by their understanding of and commitment to quality standards and frameworks. I have no doubt that their customers benefit from working with a company that embraces standards in the way that Bison does, and at CENSolutions we’re looking forward to working with them again.”

Regency Glass switches certification to CENSolutions

As a longstanding supplier of processed glass, with a heritage that spans almost 35 years, Regency Glass is a leading industry name. Based in Leigh, Lancashire, they have worked determinedly over the years to establish and sustain a reputation of distinction in quality and service.  Seriously passionate about its brand, commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction, Regency were looking for a certification provider with the relevant industry knowledge and expertise who could deliver on regulatory compliance and would engage with the Regency ethos – which is why they’ve made the switch to CENSolutions.

Debra Fitzmartin, Quality Manager at Regency Glass explains: “Delivering on quality and service has and always will be priority for Regency Glass. Product accreditations and a relevant Quality Management System provide the infrastructure to ensure continued customer confidence in Regency Glass and its product range.  Regency first attained accreditation on sealed units some 25 years ago, with accreditation on the tempered safety glass range following just four years later. Compliance is as important today as it has always been so we believed it was important to challenge ourselves and seek an industry focussed compliance partner, who could provide the most effective support and guidance.  After meeting with Wayne and the team at CENSolutions it was clear that they fit the brief and are the kind of provider we consider, will actively meet Regency’s and our customers’ needs.

“After a period of recent investment, we have expanded our manufacturing capabilities and our product offering as a result and are excited about what the future has in store for Regency Glass. We are delighted that CENSolutions will be working with us as we embark on this next phase and will be on hand for Regency and our customers should we need them.”

Wayne Rogerson, Joint Managing Director of CENSolutions adds: “We are absolutely delighted to partner with Regency Glass for all of their certification requirements. They have a fantastic reputation in the market place, which I believe is based on their commitment to quality products and service. They embrace the standards and strive to be on the front foot with legislation in order to support their customers.  They have a really knowledgeable and experienced team and we are looking forward to working with them closely in the future to ensure their customers are getting the very latest information and support when it comes to compliance.”

CENSolutions Ltd has won recognition for its commitment to trust, reliability, expertise and quality by attaining CORGI Fenestration Audit Centre status. CORGI Fenestration has been established to acknowledge the best in glazing company management, customer service, qualifications, the best qualified staff and their continuing professional development.

CENSolutions, the leading certification and compliance consultancy for the glass and fenestration industry, was established in 2003 with the aim of remedying the serious shortfall in the quality and level of advice being offered at the time. In the 14 years since, the company has worked hard to become one of the leading consultancy partners in the sector. This latest achievement and association with the much-trusted CORGI brand is a further endorsement of CENSolutions’ continued commitment to the industry.

CENSolutions Joint Managing Director Wayne Rogerson comments: “We immediately recognised the benefits of the much-trusted CORGI brand coming into the fenestration sector. We see its potential in allowing our industry to put itself on an equal footing with other home improvement industries which win consumer business based on delivering goods and services recognised as being formally qualified to do so. Becoming a CORGI Fenestration Audit Centre will prove invaluable to CENSolutions and our customers, and we look forward to carrying out audits on behalf of CORGI Fenestration against the stringent scheme requirements.”

“We are delighted to welcome CENSolutions into the CORGI Fenestration family,” commented Chris Mayne, CEO of CORGI Fenestration. “Wayne and his audit team are recognised for their industry experience and professionalism and as such are a perfect fit for us.”

Established in 1949 and now manufacturing more than 8,000 sealed units every week, Norfolk-based Ecoglass Ltd is an independent glass supplier that knows how important consistent quality is for sustainable growth. Now in the 6th year of their relationship with CENSolutions, the certification and compliance consultancy for the fenestration industry, Ecoglass has in the words of the auditor made a ‘magnificent effort’ in gaining CMS Mark approval in respect of EN1279 (sealed units) and EN12150 (thermally toughened glass) requirement standards.

Ecoglass Director, Gaby Mendham comments: “With over 60 years’ experience within the glass industry, we have continued to adapt to an ever-changing market to continue, but one thing that has never changed is our commitment to providing the highest quality products.  At Ecoglass, our mantra is ‘not all insulating glass is created equal’. This is borne out by the fact that we ensure we only use the highest quality components available within the market. All of the components used, especially the glass types, have evolved over the years giving the consumer much wider choice and greater options. Ensuring that we are at the forefront of new glass technologies means that we can provide our customers with the perfect unit for their needs.

“The team from CENSolutions has always been a great fit for us, ensuring that we constantly keep up to our own high standards through regular audits. We are very pleased to achieve a 100% pass rate. This shows all of the hard work put into our training regime and quality practices within the manufacturing environment have been taken on board by our employees and managers alike. We feel that one of the most important factors is teamwork and having a workforce that cares about our products and our customers is vital to maintaining the high standards we set out to achieve.”

Mike Gaillard, CENSolutions Joint MD adds: “As the results of this latest CMS Mark audit show, Gaby and her team have demonstrated how by by adhering to the rules of the standard and collaborative working with industry specialists like ourselves, they have a sustainable quality regime framework that benefits clients now and into the future. People have the misconception that certification is a headache or just a box to be ticked, but as Ecoglass has shown, taking quality seriously and getting it right really does benefit business performance and ultimately customers.”

Warwick Development tops ten with CENSolutions

Warwick Development (North West) Ltd is in its 20th year of trading – no surprise considering they are one of Liverpool’s leading premier trade frame suppliers of PVCu windows and doors.  Notwithstanding the quality products and customer service they provide, they partly accredit their longevity to some of the longstanding partnerships they have made with suppliers along the way, one of whom is CENSolutions for all of their product certification needs.

Greg Johnson, Managing Director at Warwick Development (North West) Ltd explains: “At Warwick North West we take our work seriously. We want our customers to feel confident that when choosing us as suppliers, they are in safe hands. Our windows and doors are all professionally manufactured to ensure they meet the essential accreditation criteria. As a fabricator and supplier of PVCu products it is important for us and our customers that we are correctly accredited. Third party accreditations from respected companies ensure our customers that we are competent and legitimate. Accreditations also help us to gain industry recognition for the quality of our work and the products that we use.

“We have worked with CENSolutions for over ten years now and have always been delighted with the service we have received. They are helpful, knowledgeable and easy to work with, which is everything you need from a certification provider.  We are delighted to be approaching our 20th anniversary and look forward to celebrating this milestone – with many more to look forward to in the future.”

Wayne Rogerson, Joint Managing Director of CENSolutions concludes: “Warwick Development is a great company to have on board for so many years and hopefully many more to come. They are committed to producing a wide range of quality products which is demonstrated through their achievement and attainment of their Gold CMS Mark, which covers PAS 24, as well as Secured by Design accreditations.  We wish them all the best in celebrating their 20th anniversary.”

Morley Glass makes the switch to CENSolutions for certification

2016 was a major year for Leeds based Morley Glass and Glazing. Following a £1.5m investment into new machinery and premises move, the company now stands as the UK’s largest manufacturer of integral blinds within an insulated glass unit, from its 50,000 square foot dedicated facility.

Ian Short, Managing Director of Morley Glass and Glazing, explains: “We started trading in 1998, with just four people working out of 500 square foot. Now, almost 20 years on we are proud to be the biggest and best at what we do.

“We made the switch to CENSolutions this year as we were fed up with our previous supplier. As a loyal customer of theirs for almost 18 years it became harder and harder to work with them.  We used to pay them a lot year on year and get very little back in return.  There seemed to be lots of grey areas and everything was wrapped up in red tape.  It became impossible.  Switching to CENSolutions has been like a breath of fresh air.

“Since we engaged their services we have been delighted with the service. We have implemented a number of efficiencies they have suggested and found them to be quick to respond to any queries ourselves or our customers have had and although it wasn’t a deciding factor, making the switch has even saved us money.  CENSolutions is an industry focussed certification provider and have the industry knowledge we can call upon if needed.   They have got to know us as a business really well in a short space of time and have done lots of the work behind the scenes so we haven’t had to deal with it.  They came very highly recommended and have so far ticked all the boxes in terms of the type of provider you need when it comes to certification.”

Wayne Rogerson, Joint Managing Director of CENSolutions concludes: “All too often we meet companies who have been indoctrinated into thinking that certification has to be done with one supplier. What that means is that too many companies out there in our industry are getting poor, overpriced service.  People have the misconception that certification is a headache because these poor providers make it seem that way.  Our aim is to make certification hassle free and I am delighted to hear that Morley Glass and Glazing is a happy customer.

Rob Small, Independent Consultant at CENSolutions, responsible for managing the Morley Glass and Glazing account, concludes: “They have been a fantastic company to work with and their latest investment sets them aside from their competition. Although a relatively new account, we have already established a great relationship and we are happy to be on hand for them or their customers whenever they need us.  We wish them every success and look forward to working with them in the future.”

CENSolutions training well received by Trading Councils

As the largest supplier of quality certification in the window, door and glass industries, CENSolutions takes a keen interest in matters that effect not only its customers, but the industry as a whole. That’s why the company volunteered to provide training presentations on the Construction Products Regulation to various Trading Standards Regions across the UK.

Mike Gaillard, Joint Managing Director of CENSolutions explains: “One of the most common complaints from our customers when it comes to compliance is the fact that there is still an  unethical element of the marketplace that does not comply with current legislation. This is a huge frustration for them as obviously they invest time and money in ensuring they are doing everything they need to in order to produce quality products, when other companies continue to manufacture without the necessary procedures in place to prove compliance.

“In order to try and drive out this unethical element, CENSolutions has  provided a number of training presentations to Trading Councils across the UK on the Construction Products Regulation in order to  educate and raise awareness of the issues the industry faces. This issue is of great importance to CENSolutions, and my role as Chairman of the GGF Insulated Glass Manufacturers Group and a Licensed Consultant for Secured by Design helps to put us in a great position to work towards ensuring matters improve. We have included information on BS EN 1279 – for which we have provided checklists and detail on BS EN 1279, as well as information on low site units,  the sharing type test data and the rules governing it. We have also provided information on BS EN 12150 toughened glass, BS EN 14449 laminated glass, BS EN 14351 Windows and External Doorsets and PAS 24. This training is ongoing, but what we have delivered so far has been extremely well received.

“With 4-500 products in the marketplace, it is difficult for Trading Standards Officers to know what they are looking for in order to police this matter, as no information has been provided to date by the Government or any other industry Governing Bodies. CENSolutions wants to do what it can to raise standards, not just for our customers but across the industry as a whole as better working practices create  better products, which creates better reputations. We are delighted our presentations have been so well received and hope that by investing our time in this way, we can help eliminate those not meeting the current legislative standards.”
